Showcase Victoria 2024 – Thats a wrap!

WRAPPING UP SHOWCASE VICTORIA!

Showcase Victoria 2024 brought together an incredible array of artists and projects. The event featured 48 exceptional productions and 31 contemporary music acts through the Showcase Victoria Music Menu, created in partnership with Music Victoria. Over two days, attendees experienced 13 performance excerpts and 31 pitches, along with special updates from Arts on Tour and Nicholas Clark Management.

We heard from Tony Garvey of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people, VAPAC Chair Tammy Ryan, CEO of Regional Arts Victoria Jo Porter, Jonathan Yeoman from Theatre Safe Australia, and our industry partner Jands Pty Ltd.

Day one began with our First Nations Program, curated by First Nations Programming Advisor Tom Molyneux, featuring a variety of outstanding projects and organisations. The day also included dedicated networking time and a special roaming performance of “Bufo the Toad” by Snuff Puppets. Day two continued with more excerpts, pitches, networking opportunities, and a presentation on the music menu, facilitated by Dale Packard from Music Victoria.

We want to thank everyone who participated in and supported Showcase Victoria 2024, and Darebin Arts & Entertainment Centre for hosting the event in their beautiful venue. Special thanks to Matthew Schroeders from Korova, our Showcase Victoria Technical Manager, and Regional Arts Victoria for their support in organising the event. Finally, a huge thank you to Candy Bowers, our fantastic MC over the two days.

Showcase Victoria is proudly presented by The Victorian Association of Performing Arts Centres, with support from Regional Arts Victoria, and Creative Victoria. The event was sponsored by Jands Pty Ltd and Theatre Safe Australia.
